Terms of use

Purpose

Kiptrail lets you tell your outings (trail, road running, hiking, trekking) on a page: route, photos, split times, story; and turn them into keepsakes: photo albums, patches and badges. These terms apply to any use of kiptrail.com.

Beta version, free of charge

Kiptrail is currently in beta and free. Features may change, be added or removed, and the service may be interrupted. Your data is not reset at the end of the beta. If paid offers are introduced, they will be governed by separate terms of sale, which you will be free to accept or not.

Account

The service is reserved for people aged 15 and over. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for the accuracy of the information you provide. You can delete your account at any time from your profile: your pages, photos, albums, patches and data are then erased.

Your content

You keep ownership of your texts, photos and tracks. You grant Kiptrail, free of charge and for as long as they remain on the site, the right to host, reproduce and display them, solely to run the service and according to the visibility you choose (draft, public page, link-only page), and to lay them out in the albums, patches and videos you create. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights, in particular the consent of identifiable people in your photos.

Shared photos, cheers and comments

Registered members can cheer a published page and leave a public comment signed with their name, possibly with their own photos of the outing. By sharing a photo, you warrant that you took it (or have the right to share it) and agree that the page author may add it to their gallery, credited with your name. Everyone is responsible for their messages; the page author can delete any comment and close comments, and Kiptrail can remove reported content.

Community and visibility

If you publish at least one outing and leave the “Appear in the community and search” option on, your public profile (name, town, photo, bio, published outings) appears on the Community page and in search. You can turn this option off at any time from your profile.

Drawn routes, imports and connectors

Routes drawn on the map are computed automatically and may differ from the actual terrain. Results imported from third-party sites (FFA, UTMB, RunnerBreizh…) are imported at your request: check them before creating your pages. Connectors (Claude AI assistant) only act with your permission, which you can revoke at any time from your profile; pages they create remain drafts.

Albums and patches

Albums and patch files are generated from your content and settings. Check the preview before printing or manufacturing them: Kiptrail is not responsible for the work of the printers and makers you entrust them to.

Prohibited behaviour

You may not publish unlawful, abusive or hateful content, content infringing others' privacy or rights (including photos of people without their consent), impersonate someone else, use the service for unsolicited advertising or disrupt its operation. Kiptrail may unpublish reported content and suspend an account in case of breach.

Sports information and safety

The data shown (distances, elevation, times, rankings, weather, categories, race plan estimates) is for information only. It does not replace a race's rules, a map or your own judgement: in the mountains as in races, stay mindful of your safety.

Liability

Kiptrail strives to provide a continuous, quality service but cannot guarantee it will be free of interruptions or errors. Keep a copy of your photos and tracks: a full export of your data is available from your profile.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change; you will be informed of significant changes. They are governed by French law. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
